DESCRIPTION:
Ansonia Clock Co., C.1894, "CABINET ANTIQUE", oak cased mantel clock with brass trimmings, this one with one piece porcelain dial. Note variations in movement between this one and lot with fancy dial. This one has low mount iron based gong, as used in many mantle models.
CONDITION:
the oak case has been stripped and now with a light coat of shellac. Brass trimmings have oxidized from being near the ocean. See this model in Ly's Ansonia book, page 241. Price guide for solid dial model = $2750. Ht 20".
